A spine-focused clinician with dual training in chiropractic and nursing
I am a dual-trained Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and Registered Nurse (RN),
holding advanced certifications as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP)
and a Primary Spine Practitioner (PSP) through the University of Pittsburgh.
My clinical education is continuously evolving, including my current preparation for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) board certification.
Combined with my background as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), this comprehensive medical background matters because many cases are not just about “tight muscles” or “being out of alignment.”
The best outcomes come from identifying the true driver of your symptoms, triaging your condition accurately, and choosing the right conservative care to build lasting strength and resilience.
My care is built around a thorough, evidence-based evaluation, a clear explanation of findings, and a structured plan you can actually follow.
When appropriate, I coordinate seamlessly with other healthcare professionals and help you understand your next steps,
including exactly when imaging, specialist input, or a different approach is warranted.
You will never feel pressured into endless, open-ended treatment plans. The goal is measurable progress, building your confidence, and providing a clear path back to normal life.
Primary Spine Practitioner certification
I am a Primary Spine Practitioner
certified through the University of Pittsburgh. The PSP program is a post-graduate certification designed for clinicians who serve as
first-contact providers for spine-related conditions. It emphasizes evidence-based clinical decision making, appropriate triage, and
conservative management of neck and back pain.
In simple terms, it helps ensure your care is grounded in what research supports, not trends, not gimmicks, and not one-size-fits-all protocols.
Real-world experience with athletes and complex cases
My clinical approach is influenced by years of treating active people and athletes who need to perform, not just feel better for a day.
I have provided care in sports settings and event coverage environments where decisions need to be practical, safe, and effective.
- Team Chiropractor for the Pittsburgh Vengeance hockey organization
- Sports and endurance event coverage, including marathon and triathlon settings
- Clinical training experiences that included high-volume, medically complex environments
Whether you are a competitive athlete or someone who simply wants to get back to walking comfortably, lifting, training, or enjoying weekends again, the goal is the same: restore function and confidence with a plan you understand.
Conditions commonly treated
As a Primary Spine Practitioner, my clinic is equipped to handle complex and persistent musculoskeletal issues. I routinely evaluate and manage:
- Low back pain, including acute flare-ups and chronic, recurring episodes
- Sciatica, radiculopathy, and radiating leg pain
- Neck pain, upper back stiffness, and whiplash-associated disorders
- Cervicogenic headaches (headaches driven by joint or muscle dysfunction in the neck)
- Sports injuries, tendinopathies, and repetitive overuse injuries
- Shoulder, hip, and knee pain influenced by biomechanical or movement limitations
- Nerve entrapments and arm/hand symptoms that mimic carpal tunnel syndrome
- Disc herniations and suspected discogenic pain patterns
Not sure if your specific symptom fits into one of these categories? Start with a complimentary phone consultation to see if you are in the right place.
My approach: evidence-based, rehabilitation-first care
You deserve a clear diagnosis, a treatment plan that makes logical sense, and interventions that match your specific goals.
My clinical approach bridges the gap between pain relief and performance. Depending on your case, your care plan may include:
- Comprehensive Evaluation: A structured assessment to identify the true drivers of your symptoms, not just the site of the pain.
- Pain Modulation: Evidence-based manual therapy and joint mobilization to improve your range of motion and reduce pain sensitivity.
- Soft Tissue Management: Targeted myofascial release and trigger point therapy to address muscular tension.
- Advanced Modalities: Adjunct therapies when clinically appropriate to accelerate tissue healing, including shockwave therapy.
- Active Rehabilitation: Progressive exercises designed to build long-term load capacity, strength, and resilience so injuries are less likely to return.
- Patient Empowerment: Education and self-management strategies so you understand your body and feel completely in control of your condition.
The goal is never to keep you reliant on endless office visits. The goal is to help you improve rapidly, understand exactly what is going on, and give you the tools to maintain your progress independently.
My approach: evidence-based, rehabilitation-first care
I do not believe in cookie-cutter care. You deserve a clear diagnosis, a plan that makes sense, and treatment that matches your goals.
My approach often includes a combination of:
- Thorough evaluation to identify the likely drivers of your symptoms
- Manual therapy when appropriate to improve motion and reduce pain sensitivity
- Targeted soft tissue work to reduce guarding and improve tolerance to movement
- Rehabilitation exercises that build long-term resilience and reduce recurrence
- Adjunct therapies when clinically appropriate, including shockwave therapy and laser therapy
- Education and self-management strategies so you feel in control of your condition
The goal is not to keep you in the office forever. The goal is to help you improve, understand what is going on, and know how to maintain progress.

Pittsburgh roots
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and I bleed black and gold. Outside the clinic, I make it a point to stay as active as the patients I treat. You can often find me captaining a team in the Foundry Adult Hockey league at the Pittsburgh Ice Arena, casting a line in local Pennsylvania trout streams, or traveling out West to ski mountains like Steamboat or Tahoe with my wife, Holly.
When we are not on the move, I enjoy sailing, biking, and just relaxing at home. I am proud to serve my hometown, helping patients across Pittsburgh and nearby communities including Fox Chapel, O’Hara Township, Oakmont, Gibsonia, and Hampton stay healthy, resilient, and active.
If you are skeptical, you are not alone
Many patients who come to my office have already tried treatment elsewhere without success. Some have unfortunately been told their pain is “normal for their age” and to just accept it. Others have been pushed toward a narrow set of options like heavy medication, joint injections, or premature surgery. Some even tried random rehab exercises they found online and ended up feeling worse.
If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place. The next step is not more guessing, endless passive treatments, or cookie-cutter printouts. A structured, evidence-based evaluation will help us identify what is actually driving your symptoms so we can determine the most reasonable, effective next step for your specific body.
